Rev Dr Eddie Ellis Jr was born on January 23, 1955 to the late Mr. Eddie Ellis, Sr and Mrs Ruby Lee Lang Ellis.
He is the product of Waco public schools and a graduate of the McClendon Community College with a degree in Applied Science, University of Texas Arlington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work, Master of Divinity degree from Regents University, Va Beach Va, and a doctorate of Ministry degree from Newburgh Seminary in Newburgh Indiana.
He was licensed to preach in 2004 and appointed as pastor of St Paul AME Church Marlin, Tx in 2010. He was promoted to Adams Chapel Harker Heights, Tx in 2023 and successfully hosted with grace and radical hospitality the 2025 NWTX Annual Conference for the Tenth Episcopal District 15-20 Sept 2025 in Killeen, TX.
He is currently married to Rev Benita Hill and has three adult children Trae, Iraunce, and Kendra. He is a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity Inc; a 32nd degree Mason (Hopeful Lodge #78); and a Shriner
(ISAAD #275).
His scripture theme is Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you" (ESV).
His motto is “Follow Me as I Follow Christ Jesus!”
